Los Angeles is arguably home to some of the world’s most creative and ambitious minds. Among them is Melanie Avalon: a name you don’t want to miss. At 17, Melanie was accepted into the early entrance program at the University of Southern California, from which she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double BA in film and theatre.

Melanie’s dreams of becoming a successful Hollywood actress began manifesting after graduation when she immediately booked a role on the Biography Channel’s Deadly Wives. This was followed by numerous other film and television projects, and entrance into SAG-AFTRA. Little did she know, the start of her success story would evolve into something greater, beyond the entertainment industry.

While at USC, Melanie harbored a searing desire to understand the science of maintaining a camera-ready body, as well as the “why” behind diets. As she explored the human body’s complexities, it became evident a one-size-fits-all solution did not exist. Her personal goals morphed to body optimization, and she discovered hacks that helped her achieve these, which would ultimately become the world of “biohacking.” Melanie notably realized that finding credible information on the matter was challenging and confusing, often laden with contradictions, and she resolved to change that. She began blogging, and in 2014, she self-published the original version of what would eventually become traditionally published What When Wine: Lose Weight and Feel Great with Paleo-Style Meals, Intermittent Fasting, and Wine (2018, W.W. Norton), after signing with a top literary agent, Celeste Fine.

Melanie also discovered the intermittent fasting (“IF”), “One Meal A Day” (“OMAD”) diet, long before the concept was popular. While she knew IF wasn’t for everyone, the approach revolutionized her life, providing energy and stamina, while helping her achieve and maintain a thin, metabolically-healthy physique. Eager to share her experience with inquiring minds, she turned to the blossoming podcast medium and took a charismatic, well-informed shot in the dark. She launched “The Intermittent Fasting Podcast” with Gin Stephens in 2017, and the show (now co-hosted with Cynthia Thurlow), quickly gained a loyal audience and top-rated health podcast status on all platforms, with millions of downloads to date.

Eager to expand beyond intermittent fasting, Melanie next launched “The Melanie Avalon Biohacking Podcast” in 2019, putting a name to the concept she had been doing long before she knew there was a popular term for it. The podcast is a platform and point of connection for those looking to live happier, healthier lives, through every day “hacks” for self-improvement, and features interviews with the world’s top doctors, authors, and researchers, from Wim Hof to Dave Asprey to Robb Wolf to David Sinclair.

By 2021, Melanie’s career was thriving. She was producing two incredibly successful podcasts and networking weekly with the most influential names in the health and wellness space. In doing so, Melanie found that she was consistently disappointed by the supplement industry’s lack of transparency with ingredients, fillers, and sustainability. Ever the blossoming entrepreneur, she launched AvalonX, in collaboration with MD Logic Health. The line exists to support the human body at the highest levels, using proven scientific research to create its products. AvalonX prides itself on transparency, purity, potency, and trust. It’s clear the AvalonX brand has the potential to become a household name, just like Melanie has become to her thousands of loyal followers.
