Megadeth Resurrected in the OC: With the Dave Ellefson scandal behind them and White Lion/Black Label Society/Slash’s Snakepit man James Lomenzo back on the bass, Megadeth are due a triumphant return. The thrash titans have a new album due this year, dubiously titled The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead! So there should be plenty of new tunes in Orange County, alongside classics from such beloved albums as Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction.

Frontman Dave Mustaine has put a great bill together too; main support is Virginia growlers Lamb of God, while power metal troupe Trivium and metalcore faves Hatebreed also play.

Megadeth Resurrected in the OC: The event takes place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1 at FivePoint Amphitheatre.
