Forget meals taken as pills, in The Future whole meals will be eaten in courses of cupcakes. Taking the first steps down that horrifying dystopian road, Cynthia Kallile has created The Meatloaf Bakery in Chicago. At least the road to hell is paved with whimsy and preciousness though; we cannot deny that these cupcakes are cute. Even their names are absolutely adorable, from Loaf-A-Roma (the Italian-inspired loaf topped with pasta) to the A Wing and A Prayer Loaf (yes, that is a chicken wing turned into a meat cupcake).

For now, there are 7 carnivorous options, including the No Buns About it Burger Loaf and the Chicken Shish Ka Loaf, a kebabcake topped with potatoes and served with a special mint sauce. There is also a gluten-free vegetarian option, in case someone who doesn't eat meat gets dragged into his or her worst nightmare.

In an interview with the hilariously named blog Your Meat Tooth, Kallile talks about her lifelong love of the humble meatloaf. She discusses her desire to add more exotic meats like bison, venison, wild boar, and/or ostrich to the rotation, and expresses interest in creating more ethnic-inspired meatloaf. “Every time I taste something I enjoy, I wonder how I can create a meatloaf,” she says, and she must be the only person to ever suffer from such an affliction.

Though we can't recommend traveling to Chicago before all of that Thundersnow stops, if you happen to be in the windy city we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
