Choreographer Alyson Boell is fascinated by the unconscious side of human nature, what Carl Jung called “the shadow half.” Tonight, she explores the subject in her latest work, Say the Body Is Like This Lamp. Boell shares the stage with choreographer Deborah Rosen, who unveils S.O.S./Sleeping on Snow, featuring suspended rice-paper drawings. Rosen also reprises Giunone, a quintet the audience adored at last spring's Celebrate Dance 2009. “Giunone” is Italian for Juno, the goddess of marriage and love, as well as the protectress of women and, presumably, two women choreographers.
