Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa recently celebrated gay Pride week by flying the Rainbow Flag at the city's official mayoral residence, a move that appeared to be a first for an official city event. “I do not recall ever seeing the Rainbow Flag officially hung outside the mansion, nor officially posed alongside the American and California flags other than in West Hollywood,” writes blogger Karen Ocamb at LGBT POV (via LA Observed).

Villaraigosa celebrated the kick off of the 40th anniversary of Christopher Street West | LA PRIDE by hosting an event at the Getty House.

Rodney Scott, president of Christopher Street West, joked about the mayor's good looks, saying a successor would have a hard time matching him in that department. “I don't know how they're going to top him,” Scott said, according LGBT POV.

Apparently, that set off some chuckles.
