The city of Los Angeles has obtained a restraining order against a man who was arrested after he allegedly made a threat against Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, according to TMZ. Daniel John Molnar was arrested Thursday after he allegedly called the mayor's office from his home and said, “The Mayor knows who I am. The Mayor is talking a lot of s**t. You tell him that I'm going to take him out.”

According to the Sheriff's Department website, the man, who's 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, was held in lieu of $50,000 bail after cops picked him up — according to TMZ — only three hours after the call from his “Mid-Wilshire” home. The City Attorney's office reported that caller ID was used to track the suspect.

Los Angeles police Detective Jeff Dunn stated that Molnar claimed to be a “CIA operative” and said he knew the mayor wanted to kill him for his ideas that he said were worth “millions.”

While the District Attorney's office declined to file charges, the mayor's office apparently felt the threat was serious enough to have the City Attorney's people request a restraining order that prohibits Molnar from within 100 yards of the mayor, his residence, or City Hall.

The mayor rolls with two pretty bad-ass looking, into-their-sleeve talking, suit-wearing Los Angeles police officers pretty much everywhere he goes. He's got badges. He don't need no stinking restraining order (although it would allow those two to bring down Molnar if they catch him in the restraining-order zone).
