Approaching its two-year anniversary, Bodega Wine Bar in Hollywood shuttered, keeping its remaining two locations in Pasadena and Santa Monica open. “We have decided that this is not the right location for our concept and it's time to close our doors. We would like to thank all our staff, investors, friends and family as well as all the new friends we made in Hollywood for their support,” EaterLA quoted.

Mo-Chica pulled a switcheroo, closing its Mercado la Paloma location and opening anew just steps from Bottega Louie in downtown L.A. Adding more late-night eats to Silverlake, gourmet grilled cheese shop Heywood opened on Sunset. The name was inspired by the biggest cheese lover the owners could find — John Heywood, who wrote an ode to cheese in 1906. “Just as each of us takes away a slightly different message/meaning/tone from a novel, so it is with cheese,” the owners mused.

Opening in mid-June, Hannosuke, a tempura specialist based out of Chūō, Tokyo, will debut in Culver City's Mitsuwa Marketplace. The vendor specializes in one item: tendon, or tempura donburi, which consists of piles of mixed seafood and veggie tempura served over rice and laced with a super-secret “Edo-style” sauce.
