27-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near James Road in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 20, 2021) – Saturday on July 10, 27-year-old Maurilio Herrera, died in a fatal car crash on Highway 65.

The crash took place near James Road, as stated by the report. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.

According to the authorities, Herrera was driving a 2003 Infinity south while a 2011 Chevrolet who was heading north. Herrera entered the oncoming northbound lanes to pass a vehicle when he struck the Chevrolet head-on.

The driver of the Chevrolet suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center for further treatment. He was only described as a man from Bakersfield.

Meanwhile, Herrera suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, the crash is still under active investigation.
