Hit-and-Run Crash near John Wayne Airport Left 33-Year-Old Man Dead

SANTA ANA, CA (January 10, 2023) – Tuesday evening, a hit-and-run crash on 405 Freeway claimed the life of Matthew Solorzano.

The incident happened on January 3rd, just after 7:30 p.m., in the northbound lanes of 405 near John Wayne Airport.

According to reports, a Solorzano attempted to cross southbound lanes by climbing over the concrete driver wall. There, an unknown vehicle hit him. The vehicle then continued onto the HOV northbound lanes. The involved driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene.

First responders arrived shortly after and medical personnel pronounced 33-year-old Matthew Solorzano dead at the scene. Meanwhile, California Highway Patrol three lanes of 405 between McArthur Boulevard and the 55 Freeway for cleanup and preliminary duties.
