Matamoska Recalls the Concert Life: The members of Latin ska-punk band Matamoska told us about their greatest concert experiences.

AJ Acdan: One time I was in Isla Vista next to UCSB, and I heard a backyard gig going down a block over from my friends’ place. I got to see Iration for free on accident! I just started getting into reggae at that time, so it was pretty sick

Rob Verdugo: While on tour in Honolulu, Hawaii, I had the best fortune of seeing Mike Love and the Full Circle’s album release at Hawaiian Brian’s. The raw emotion, incredible lighting and sound, mixed with some of the best musicians I’ve ever heard in my life made it such a spiritual and unforgettable experience.

Jose Padilla: Lalopalooza watching the Ramones, Rancid, Metallica, and Devo. I met Richard (our drummer) that day and we kind of started hanging out off and on since then.

Esteban Flores: I think one of the best shows I’ve ever seen was Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra playing at the Observatory. Not only are they my favorite group over all, their performance was amazing to watch and the overall vibe was something great!

Matamoska Recalls the Concert Life: The band livestreams at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 22 here courtesy of My Grito, Suavecito Pomade, Blaze Mota and Border X Brewing.
