With several notable career highlights under his belt, Iain has worked on projects like The Peripheral, Spoiler Alert, and Harlem (season 1). In Dr. Death, the production was shot in New Mexico, but the story was set elsewhere, requiring a lot of color correcting of brown foliage to green to make it look like it was shot in spring or summer. This entailed a lot of rotoscoping to separate the foreground character and objects that didn’t need to be green and then hue correct to color correct the foliage to be green.

In another instance, Iain had to remove a camera reflection from a glass surface for Tulsa King. With changing perspectives and camera movement, this task required a combination of camera tracking, hand-animated adjustments, and rotoscoping to achieve the desired result.

Iain’s wisdom and experience offer invaluable lessons for those aspiring to enter the world of VFX compositing. He emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest techniques, software updates, and industry trends. Strong communication and collaboration skills are also essential for building relationships and ensuring projects stay on track.
