78-Year-Old Woman Killed in Head-On Collision near Stony Point Road

PETALUMA, CA (September 27, 2022) – Friday afternoon, a head-on collision on Rohnert Parkway Express killed Mary Ann Diaz-Romero and injured Jorge Valles.

The fatal incident happened around 1:53 p.m., just east of Stony Point Road.

According to reports, Valles was driving a Ford Ranger pickup-truck when he made an unsafe maneuver into the lanes of oncoming traffic. There, the pickup-truck collided with a Honda CRV driven by Diaz-Romero.

Emergency crews arrived and extricated Diaz-Romero and Valles from their severely damaged vehicles. Paramedics then transported both drivers to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for further treatment of major injuries.

Due to the extent of her condition, 78-year-old Mary Ann Diaz-Romero later died at the hospital.

No further details regarding the Rohnert Park Expressway head-on crash have been released to the public. However, Petaluma Officials will provide more information once available.
