The harsh sentence was the “mandatory minimum” under a federal law that states drugs you sell to someone who then dies after using them will put you behind bars for two decades.

They were apparently a particularly strong strain of E, and she had a seizure and died.
Bada pleaded guilty late last year to distribution of a drug resulting in death.
Both went to Rancho Bernardo High School in northeastern San Diego County.
Luna's mother, Dorina Torres, told the U-T: “It was a mistake that cost her her life.”
