22-Year-Old Skateboarder Dies after a Vehicle Collision near Conejo Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (August 4, 2023) – Friday night, a skateboarding accident near Highway 43 claimed the life of Martin Garcia Mendoza. The incident happened on July 28th, at around 7:20 p.m., near the intersection of Highway 43 and Conejo Avenue. According to reports, Mendoza was riding his skateboard in a southerly direction when he entered the intersection. There, he rode directly into the path of a Dodge that had the green light. The impact of the collision caused Mendoza to be ejected from his skateboard and sustain critical injuries. Emergency crews arrived at the site of the collision shortly after and performed life-saving measures. However, they were unsuccessful. Officials then declared 22-year-old Martin Garcia Mendoza dead at the scene.
