Fiery Solo-Car Crash on Highway 41 Result to the Death of 23-year-old Marquise Smith

FRESNO, CA (August 24, 2021) Marquise Smith, 23, of Fresno, died Saturday afternoon in a fiery car accident on Highway 41 in Fresno.

The fatal accident happened around 2:00 p.m. on Highway 41 near the O Street offramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the female driver crashed her vehicle into the center median before colliding with a tree and coming to rest.

Officers on the scene were able to extract the driver and a passenger before the car caught fire.

Medics transported both unconscious occupants of the vehicle to a nearby hospital, but the passenger died as a result of his injuries.

Authorities identified 23-year-old Marquise Smith as the deceased victim of the crash.

At this time, the authorities are still investigating the causes surrounding the incident.
