Pregnant Woman Dead after Pedestrian Crash on Loma Prieta Avenue
WATSONVILLE, CA (September 27, 2022) – Thursday night, a pedestrian accident on South Green Valley Road claimed the life of Marlyn Uribe.
The fatal collision happened shortly before 8:30 p.m., between Loma Prieta and Carey Avenue.
For reasons unknown, a woman driving a white BMW crossed four lanes of traffic and lost control of her vehicle before striking Uribe who was crossing the street. The BMW then continued on into the path of a Ford SUV, crashing into it head-on.
Responding medical personnel declared 33-year-old Uribe, of Watsonville dead at the scene. Medics say she was pregnant at the time.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported three occupants from inside the BMW to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The driver and passenger of the Ford stayed at the scene and were treated for minor injuries.
