60-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Accident near Union Hills Drive

PHOENIX, AZ (April 7, 2023) – Late Saturday night, Mark Oale was killed in a red-light collision on 35th Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m., near Union Hills Drive on April 1st.

According to reports, the teen driver of a truck failed to yield at a red light. As a result, the teenager struck 60-year-old Oale who was heading south on 35th Avenue.

Upon impact, Oale’s vehicle was pushed into another car that was stopped at the intersection. Paramedics arrived and transported Oale to a nearby hospital where he later died.

In addition, the teen and the third driver sustained injuries and remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.

Following preliminary duties, police said that both driver showed no signs of impairment. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
