69-Year-Old Man Dies in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

MORRO BAY, CA (July 23, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, Mark Richard Evans, 69, died after being struck by a trash truck in Morro Bay.

The crash took place around 12:10 p.m., at Morro Bay Boulevard & Bernardo Avenue, as stated by the report. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.

According to the police, Evans was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle. Police found Evans lying in the roundabout near Quintana Road.

Due to the impact of the crash, medics pronounced Evans dead at the scene. Moreover, the driver of the truck was contacted and cooperated with the investigation.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the road has since reopened.

Meanwhile, the crash is still under active investigation.
