68-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Car vs Motorcycle Crash near East J Street

LA MESA, CA (May 28, 2024) Mark Darulis died late Saturday evening, in a motorcycle crash on northbound Interstate 805.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m., near East J Street.

Officers say a man riding a Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a broken-down vehicle on the highway. The impact of the collision ejected the rider from his motorcycle, resulting in life-threatening injuries.

Medical personnel declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified him as 68-year-old Darulis of La Mesa.

It is unclear if the driver of the broken-down vehicle sustained any injuries from the incident.
