Helicopter Accident near Hemet-Ryan Airport Left Two Men Dead

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA (March 28, 2023) – Friday afternoon, a helicopter crash in Nuevo claimed the lives of Mark Carter and Dennis Foster. The deadly incident happened around 12:40 p.m., 10 miles northwest of Hemet-Ryan Airport, near Perris and Hemet. According to the officials, an emergency call was received just before the helicopter crashed down an unincorporated hillside. However, the cause of the incident remains under investigation. Responding units from the Riverside County Sheriff’s aviation unit located the downed Bell 407 helicopter and discovered two deceased passengers inside. Later, the Sheriff’s department identified the two deceased people as 61-year-old Mark Carter and 62-year-old Dennis Foster, both of Murrieta. At this time, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are working to determine the cause of the crash.
