Scooter Accident along Church Avenue left Mark Bocanegra Dead

HIGHLAND, CA (September 15, 2021) A deadly crash involving a scooter and a pick-up truck claimed the life of 52-year-old Mark Bocanegra last Saturday night.

The incident occurred around 8:15 P.M. when a 19-year-old driver of Ford F150 going south on Church Avenue attempted to turn left onto Stratford Street.

However, the driver turned his pickup directly into the path of Bocanegra’s 50cc scooter.

As a result, the front end of the scooter struck the passenger side of the pickup, leaving Mark Bocanegra critically injured.

Eventually, first responders declared Mark Bocanegra dead at the scene despite the life-saving efforts of the paramedics.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Highland Officials are currently investigating the incident.
