52-Year-Old Rider Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Bell Street

LOS ALAMOS, CA (June 4, 2021) – 52-year-old Mark Anderson died Monday afternoon after a fatal motorcycle accident on Bell Street.

The incident took place near Bell Street and Cat Canyon Road around 3:50 p.m., on May 31. Emergency crews arrived to the area shortly after.

According to CHP, Luis Silva Lopez was driving a Honda Civic south on Bell Street after exiting Highway 101. There, he collided with a 2003 Harley-Davidson.

The rider applied his brakes but lost control, causing him to be ejected from his motorcycle. He was later identified as Mark Anderson, 52, of Buellton. Due to the extent of his condition, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Civic remained unharmed.

In addition, the family and friends of Anderson made a GoFundMe account for his burial expenses.

The surrounding area on Bell Street was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.

Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Mark Anderson during this difficult time.
