Driver and Passenger Fatally Struck by DUI Driver in 110 Freeway Crash

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 05, 2021) Mario Rivera, 43, and Stephany Cartagena-Bronfield, 26, both from Los Angeles, tragically died after a DUI crash on the 110 Freeway last Sunday afternoon.

The fatal collision happened just after 4:30 p.m. August 1, on the southbound 110 Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2017 Buick Regal sped and then collided with the Hyundai on Slauson Avenue.

Due to the impact, both the driver and passenger of a 2014 Hyundai Elantra were declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Buick was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Authorities later identified the Buick driver as 30-year-old Warnervee Walton of Los Angeles.
