West of La Brea Avenue on Pico Boulevard and across from Oki's Dog, LBC is in a large green building that seems to have it all. There's the obligatory 300-pound security guards who use an airport, walk-through metal detector to screen patients. LBC also has some of the friendliest help in town. Cool tunes provide a good portion of the laid-back attitude clearly present at this oasis for med seekers. Spin the roulette wheel and win a prize, always a fun way to finish the experience. There's a large, lighted parking lot as well as metered parking along Pico. Some of the superior flowers include top-shelf, interplanetary OGs like Mars, Jupiter and Mercury. "One our goals is to get the cost of medicine down for our patients," supervisor B.J. Newland said. Patients are encouraged to relax and hang out with the staff. As B.J. said, "Safety and security of our patients and staff is our number one priority."
