89-Year-Old Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision near 108th Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (December 7, 2022) – Thursday evening, a hit-and-run on Central Avenue claimed the life of Marie Alexander.

The fatal collision happened around 11:10 p.m., just south of 108th Street.

Per reports, the driver of a dark early-model mid-sized Chevrolet struck a woman who was attempting to cross the street. Upon impact, the driver did not render aid to the victim and fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the female victim succumbed to her injuries. The Los Angeles county coroner’s office later identified the deceased woman as 89-year-old Alexander.

At this time, the standing reward for anyone who can identify the hit-and-run suspect is up to $50,000. The loved ones of Alexander set up a GoFundMe page to help with costs during this time.
