Hit-and-Run near Aria Drive Claims the Life of One 54-Year-Old Woman

CONCORD, CA (January 20, 2022) – Wednesday night, Maricela Villa was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver along Marsh Drive.

Officers responded to the collision around 8:50 p.m. near Aria Drive in the city of Concord, per initial reports.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle going northbound along Marsh Drive struck a woman standing next to her parked Dodge Caliber for reasons currently unknown.

However, the involved driver did not render aid to the injured woman and fled the scene before authorities could arrive.

Unfortunately, the responding personnel declared the woman dead at the scene due to the extent of her injuries. Later, the authorities identified the deceased victim as 54-year-old Villa.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
