59-Year-Old Woman Dies after a Fatal Car Accident near County Road P

TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (December 20, 2022) – Friday afternoon, a two-vehicle crash on Malton Switch Road claimed the life of Maria Wilfong.

The crash happened on December 9th at around 4:10 p.m. on Malton Switch Road at County Road P.

According to reports, a Ford Transit, driven by 60-year-old Patrick Dempsey, was traveling westbound on Malton Switch Road. Meanwhile, a Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Wilfong, was traveling northbound on County Road P. At the intersection, the Camaro failed to yield to the Transit, and the two vehicles collided.

Emergency crews arrived to the site in the crash shortly after and pronounced 59-year-old Maria Wilfong dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics airlifted Dempsey to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Meanwhile, police indicated that alcohol or drugs were not the factors of the crash. Further investigation is still underway.
