58-Year-Old Woman Killed in Broadside Collision near Delphinium Avenue

MORENO VALLEY, CA (March 3, 2022) – Late Monday afternoon, Maria Mejia was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Indian Street.

Officers responded to the incident around 4:50 p.m., at Indian Street and Delphinium Avenue.

Investigators revealed that the driver of a black Dodge Ram pickup-truck broadsided a gold Toyota Solana in the intersection.

Emergency responders located a woman unresponsive and trapped inside the Toyota. Riverside County firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate 58-year-old Mejia from the vehicle.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, Mejia succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the pickup-truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. At this time, Moreno Valley Officials are still working to identify further circumstances surrounding the collision.
