Jose Ramirez Involved in Big-Rig Collision near Pit No. 1 Powerhouse Road

FALL RIVER MILLS, CA (August 22, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, Maria Little White Swan Riggins was killed in a car accident on Highway 299.

The deadly incident happened around 5:00 a.m., near Pit No. 1 Powerhouse Road.

Per reports, Riggins crossed over the double yellow lines into the eastbound lanes at high rates of speed in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. As a result, she collided head-on with a 2014 Peterbilt tractor, towing a flatbed.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 25-year-old Riggins dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old driver of the big-rig, Jose Ramirez and his occupant, 50-year-old Vincent Ramirez remained unharmed.

Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that alcohol played a factor in the collision. In addition, investigators say Riggins was not wearing a seat belt at the time. However, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
