Traffic Collision on Merle Haggard Drive Left Elderly Woman Dead

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 13, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a car collision along Highway 65 claimed the life of Maria Guadalupe Arce. The deadly crash happened on March 1st, at around 3:42 p.m. on Highway 65 and Merle Haggard Drive, near Meadows Field Airport. Currently, the investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the incident. Responding medical personnel transported a patient to Kern Medical, where they later succumbed to their injuries. It was unclear if any other parties sustained injuries. Later, the coroner’s office identified a deceased person from the crash as 73-year-old Maria Guadalupe Arce of Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Officials continue to investigate the fatal Highway 65 two-vehicle crash.
