62-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Collision near Pearson Park

ANAHEIM, CA (March 6, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, Maria De La Luz was fatally struck by a tree on North Harbor Boulevard.

The solo-vehicle incident happened around 2:50 p.m., on the south side of Pearson Park along 400 North Harbor Boulevard.

According to reports, a tree fell and landed on top of a maroon-colored Ford SUV occupied by one person.

The sole female passenger inside the Ford became trapped in the back seat. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 62-year-old Luz dead at the scene.

Investigators will analyze the tree for overall health, density and other potential issues.

It was unclear if anyone witnessed the incident. At this time, Anaheim Officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal car accident.
