A Black man fatally shot at 10:15 p.m. on Halloween day has been identified as 23-year-old Marcus Davis. The shooting took place at 9724 Parmelee Avenue in Florence-Firestone.

The coroner told the Los Angeles Times that Davis was visiting the house on Parmelee Avenue when two men knocked on the door, then shot him multiple times through the screen.

Davis was declared dead at the hospital soon after.

Detective Rich Ramirez of the sheriff's homicide division told the Times that a witness described the shooters as Black males. Anyone with additional information about the crime is urged to contact Detective Ramirez at (323) 890-5500.
