DUI Crash on Weedpatch Highway Intersection Left 3 Fatalities

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 3, 2021) – Authorities arrested Marcia Luqueleyson after a DUI crash in a Bakersfield intersection Friday morning.

Officers responded in a two-vehicle crash just before 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Weedpatch Highway and Smith Road.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered people trapped inside the vehicle including bystanders attempting to get them out.

Later on, the investigators determined that a Jeep Cherokee crossed from the southbound to the northbound lane and collided with a Toyota Corolla.

Unfortunately, two occupants of the Cherokee including the Corolla driver died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the Jeep driver, identified as 38-year-old Marcia Luqueleyson sustained major injuries. Authorities placed her under arrest afterwards.

Bakersfield Officials continue to investigate the fatal incident.
