After much speculation about exactly what kind of restaurant Marcel Vigneron would be opening at the space he procured on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, we learned a few weeks back that the project would be called Wolf, and that its opening was imminent. That opening is upon us: Wolf opens its doors at 6 p.m. this evening.

Vigneron, of course, is best known for his somewhat diabolical run on the second season of Top Chef. Until recently, he was planning a vegetarian concept called Beefsteak, and many assumed that was what was going into the Melrose Avenue location. Eater speculates that Wolf is only taking up half the space, and Beefsteak might still go into the other half.

According to a press release, at Wolf Vigneron will practice “'zero-waste cooking' by utilizing every possible edible part of the product, from seed to stalk, very much like a Wolf would do for a meal.”  The release also states that Wolf “embodies the multicultural food landscape that defines Los Angeles, where global fusion takes shape to form dishes that are both comforting and complex.” (Did they use the “F” word??? They did! Bold.)

Indeed, the menu has dishes with Thai, Japanese and Middle Eastern flavors. You can see the full opening menu below.
