To help promote the fourth season of Maron (premiering Wednesday, May 4, on IFC), chef André Guerrero at the Oinkster brought back the messy-delicious Marc Maron burger for a limited time.

As an homage to the comic who was raised in Albuquerque, the Oinkster's burger of the month highlights some of the Land of Enchantment's most iconic ingredients. Fitting, as Maron is quickly becoming an icon himself.

Marc-Maron-the-Foodstuff is a dizzy riot of flavors heaped on a soft, sesame bun. A well seasoned, loosely bound ground-beef patty is stuffed with chorizo and queso fundido, then topped with a mildly spicy carrot and onion escabeche (made in-house) and a few roasted and chopped Hatch green chilies, arguably the most coveted N.M. culinary export. 

“Hatch green chile was part of my childhood. They'd roast those things on the side of the road in giant turning roaster and the actual air would smell like green chile. ” Maron said.

For fans, it's no big shock that the man who lives and works in Highland Park collaborated with a local restaurant. While the focus of his podcast, WTF, is on interviews with fellow comedians and other celebrities, he also frequently opines about food (and had chef-restaurateur Scott Conant on as a guest in 2013).  

The Marc Maron is on the menu until the end of May at both the Eagle Rock and Hollywood locations of the Oinkster, and is the ideal companion for the thick and mildly sweet cinnamon horchata milkshake made with Fosselman’s Ice Cream.

You don't  have to be a Maron follower  to order it — you  just have to want a great, yet fleeting, dining experience.
