29-Year-Old Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash near Mission Lakes Boulevard

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (March 22, 2022) – Friday morning, Marc Hernandez Jr. died in a wrong-way crash on Indian Canyon Drive.

According to police, the crash occurred sometime before 7:30 a.m. on March 18th near Mission Lakes Boulevard.

Reports indicate that 29-year-old Hernandez Jr. was driving a Ford Focus south in the northbound lanes of Indian Canyon Drive.

Despite his attempt to avoid the collision, the 26-year-old Cathedral City driver of a Dodge Ram pickup-truck crashed into the Ford.

Due to the impact of the collision, Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Ram driver was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, the Desert Hot Springs Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is still investigating the crash.
