Auto vs. Pedestrian Accident Kills 76-year-old Manuel Ramirez Diaz
OXNARD, CA (August 31, 2021) – 76-year-old Manuel Ramirez Diaz died Friday morning after a deadly pedestrian crash on Bay Boulevard and Ventura Road.
The accident happened Friday August 27, when Diaz was walking towards the commercial strip. As he crossed the street, Diaz was struck and killed by a 2018 Ford Mustang heading southbound on Ventura Road.
According to reports, Manuel Ramirez Diaz died on the scene due to his injuries.
In addition the driver of the Mustang, a 20-year-old Oxnard man, drove away at first but then returned to cooperate with officers on scene.
Because of the drivers initial departure from the scene, police are looking into possible criminal charges.
