Sheree Lee Fishgold Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Broome Road

TEHACHAPI, CA (June 15, 2021) – Sunday night, Sheree Lee Fishgold, was killed and Manuel Gutierrez was arrested after a crash on Highway 58.

Per reports, the crash took place around 11:15 p.m., at the eastbound on-ramp near at Broome Road. Officers arrived to the area shortly after.

An officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on Gutierrez at about 10:23 p.m. Gutierrez was driving a blue 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe when he refused to stop and attempted to run over the officer.

The westbound Tahoe then re-entered Highway 58 in the eastbound lanes. There, Gutierrez collided head-on with a 2010 Nissan Murano.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that the passenger of the Nissan had been killed. The coroner’s office later identified the victim as 62-year-old Tehachapi resident, Sheree Lee Fishgold.

In addition, both drivers suffered major injuries and were brought to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Upon his release from the hospital, Gutierrez was booked into Kern County jail. Meanwhile, the deadly crash remains under active investigation.
