Los Angeles has become a cultural epicenter for international artists seeking to make their way in a constantly evolving scene. Among these creators is Manolo Osorio, a Mexican singer, songwriter, and music producer who has managed to weave his artistic identity between two worlds: the alternative roots of ’90s rock and the playful aesthetic of video games and pop culture. His most recent release, the live EP Live at the Hotel Café, recorded acoustically at the legendary Hollywood venue, showcases his ability to reinvent himself and take his vision to new dimensions.

The EP is composed of three songs: Absence, You Stop My Heart, and Wrong Way, each reinterpreted in an intimate format that strips the tracks of electric adornments to highlight the vulnerability of the voice and the strength of the composition.

With this project, Osorio seeks to reimagine part of his repertoire and prove that his band, No Wrong Numbers, doesn’t have stylistic or technical boundaries—that his project knows no limits, and that songs can transform, adapt to a more intimate format, and still convey the same force.

For Osorio, recording at The Hotel Café was no minor detail. The venue, considered a cornerstone space for singer-songwriters in Los Angeles, has hosted artists who would later become icons of music. Performing there represented for the musician a direct dialogue with the city that has welcomed him both as a resident and as a creator.

His debut album Behind the Lenses (2018) already revealed his obsession with exploring different sounds and narratives, with songs like Whiskey Jeans that resonated on Reactor 105.7 FM, landing within the station’s Top 100 of the year. Shortly after, his triumph in the Vans Sessions 2018 competition, where he surpassed more than a thousand bands, marked a decisive moment in his career. That victory propelled him to continue seeking international stages and to collaborate with major figures in the industry.

One such moment of consolidation came with the single You Stop My Heart (2022), produced alongside Latin Grammy winner Camilo Froideval. With that collaboration, Osorio achieved a more mature sound that paved the way for performances at festivals like House of Vans and Vive Latino 2020, where his band No Wrong Numbers proved they could connect with diverse audiences.

In addition to his own releases, he has collaborated with artists from different latitudes, such as Bangladeshi musician Tahsan Khan on In Your Arms Again, where he fused his alternative style with a more cosmopolitan sensibility.

The release of No Wrong Numbers (Live at The Hotel Café) marks a turning point. While the project has always carried shades of electric energy and a colorful aesthetic inspired by video games, this acoustic version reveals a more human and vulnerable side. The silence between notes, the warmth of the guitar’s wood, and the closeness of the voice remind us that the essence of a song does not depend on embellishments, but on the honesty with which it is delivered.
