Pedestrian Crash on Stone Avenue Left One Fatality

TUCSON, AZ (January 12, 2022) – On Friday evening, Manfred Rivas died in a local hospital after being struck on Stone Avenue.

According to the police, the crash took place at 3200 block of North Stone Avenue around 6 p.m.

Furthermore, authorities said Rivas was trying to cross the street when suddenly a white Nissan Rogue SUV struck him.

Consequently, Rivas was again struck by white Saturn Ion while lying on the roadway.

However, he was not in a crosswalk during the first collision and both vehicles drove off the scene.

Apparently, the driver of white Saturn Ion vehicle identified as Roberto Alfredo Lara. Authorities arrested him and is now facing charges after escaping the scene of a fatal hit.

The driver of the white Nissan Rogue SUV, however, is still at large.

An active investigation is still underway.
