60-Year-Old Man, 74-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after 2-Vehicle Collision near Teapot Dome Avenue

PORTERVILLE, CA (June 25, 2024) – A man and a woman were killed Sunday night, in a stop-sign collision on Newcomb Street and Teapot Dome Avenue.

Police officers responded to the scene shortly after 7:15 p.m., on June 16th.

Reports indicate that a 29-year-old male driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign while traveling at high speed. Consequently, his vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle on Teapot Dome Avenue.
 
Due to the severe injuries sustained in the crash, medics pronounced a 60-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, both from Arvin, dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported the 29-year-old driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
Law enforcement officials are actively investigating to gather more information about the incident. The investigation into the fatal stop-sign crash on Newcomb Street is ongoing.
