Two Pedestrians Fatally Struck by Passing Vehicles near East 18th Street

NATIONAL CITY, CA (October 22, 2021) – Sunday night, an unidentified man and woman were killed in a pedestrian crash on 805 Freeway.

Around 8:25 p.m. on October 17, the accident occurred on the northbound lanes of 805 Freeway. Officers arrived to the scene shortly after near East 18th Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Toyota XA collided with a white Honda Civic.

Following the collision, the occupants of the Toyota, a male and female, leaped the center median wall and attempted to run across the southbound lanes when they were hit by a Chevrolet Silverado and a Mazda car.

Paramedics located both pedestrians and pronounced them dead on the scene. At this time, officials have not revealed the victims’ name or age.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time, but has since reopened.

Once available, more information about the pedestrian crash on 805 Freeway will be released.
