Two Victims Pronounced Dead after Serious Collision in Anderson

ANDERSON, CA (March 18, 2021) – Early Wednesday morning, a man and a woman were killed in a fatal car crash on 5 Freeway.

Per reports, the accident happened around 4:15 a.m., on March 17. Emergency crews arrived just north of the Sacramento River Bridge.

Witnesses told officers that a white 2006 Toyota sped up before losing control on the roadway. Then, the Toyota veered off the road and into a nearby tree.

Dispatchers located the severely damaged vehicle on the west shoulder of Riverland Drive. Due to the impact of the crash, medics pronounced the driver and passenger dead on scene. The driver was described as a 40-year-old man, and the passenger was a 25-year-old woman, both Anderson residents.

In addition, authorities also said the victims were not wearing seat belts at the time. Although, it is still unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident on 5 Freeway.
