2 Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Inyo Avenue

TULARE, CA (June 19, 2023) – Late Wednesday night, one man and one woman were killed in a 2-car accident on H Street.

Authorities responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m., near Inyo Avenue on June 14th.

Per reports, the 38-year-old male driver of a silver Chevrolet Traverse was heading west towards the intersection. Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man was driving a white Ford Focus with a 23-year-old female passenger.

After stopping at a red light, the Ford entered the intersection directly into the path of the Chevy. As a result, the two vehicles collided, causing the Ford to overturn.

Medics arrived and pronounced both Ford occupants dead at the scene due to the extent of their condition. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Chevy driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Following preliminary duties, officers did not confirm whether or not drugs or alcohol played a factor. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
