The man believed to be the dealer who gave rapper Malcolm “Mac Miller” McCormick laced drugs, has agreed to plead guilty to one count of distribution of Fentanyl.

Stephen Andrew Walter, who prosecutors believe was the dealer who supplied Mac Miller with the drugs, may face 17-20 years in prison and five years of supervised release, pending approval from the Los Angeles Court Judge, according to NBC News.

Walter was arrested on September 23, 2019 and the other charge against him for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance was dropped.

Miller died of an accidental overdose on September 7, 2018, at the age of 26 and was found in his Studio City apartment. The plea adds that Miller would not have died if not for “the Fentanyl contained in the pills.”

Court documents obtained by TMZ showed alleged text message exchanges between Miller and Cameron James Pettit on September 4, 2018. The drugs were allegedly supplied to Pettit by Walter, with Ryan Reavis allegedly used as the “runner” who transferred the drugs to Pettit.

Pettit then allegedly sold the drugs to Miller around 2:30 a.m. on September 5, 2018. It was two days later than Miller was found dead in his home. Investigators believe that Miller crushed and snorted the pills that were sold to him.

All three men involved in the deal were arrested and indicted. Pettit and Reavis have pleaded not guilty to their charges.
