Pedestrian Crash on Pecos Road South Oquendo Road Left 70-Year-Old Man in Wheelchair Dead

LAS VEGAS, NV (December 29, 2021) – A 70-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair died after a crash on Pecos Road Friday morning.

The collision took place at around 11:23 a.m. along Pecos Road, south of Oquendo Road.

According to police, the driver of a 2015 Toyota Tacoma was driving north on Pecos Road near Oquendo Road.

Afterward, a man in a motorized wheelchair was crossing Pecos Road from east to west outside of a legal crosswalk.

Consequently, the person was struck after crossing the path of the car.

The collision forced the wheelchair to flip over, ejecting the person into the road. First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.

At this time, authorities are still working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
