Amtrak Train Accident on Carlsbad Village Drive Crossing Left Pedestrian in Wheelchair Dead

CARLSBAD, CA (November 18, 2021) – An Amtrak train hit and killed a pedestrian in wheelchair on Carlsbad Village Drive Crossing.

Authorities said the Amtrak train crash occurred just before 5:00 p.m., at the grade crossing. Moreover, the man’s identify remain unknown to the public.

Furthermore, deputies shared the man was already dead at the time police arrived on the scene. Also, the manner of death is to be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Meanwhile, the crash caused delays for travelers utilizing the North County Transit District’s Coaster service and the Amtrak Surfliner.
