26-Year-Old Man Injured after Being Struck by Semi-Truck on Interstate 8

ALPINE, CA (March 3, 2023) – Early Friday morning, a 26-year-old man standing next to a disabled vehicle was struck by a semi-truck on Interstate 8.

The incident happened February 17th, at around 12:45 a.m., in the third eastbound lane of Interstate 8, near Tavern Road.

According to reports, the 26-year-old man was standing outside of a Cadillac Eldorado. For reasons currently unknown, a 2016 International Truck Tractor with a Trox Water Tanker Trailer, driven by a 66-year-old man, struck the 26-year-old man.

Emergency crews arrived shortly after and transported the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Meanwhile, the other occupants of the Cadillac, a 20-year-old man, and a 19-year-old woman, were unharmed in the collision.

There were no additional information was released and further investigation is still ongoing.
