Male Scooter Rider Hurt in Accident near Figueroa Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 17, 2022) – Early Sunday night, one man was struck and hurt after a scooter collision on 28th Street.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m., in the 500 block of West 28th Street. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

California Highway Patrol officers stated that a man was riding in his scooter when he crashed into an oncoming vehicle.

First responders located the man pinned underneath the vehicle. Crews extricated him and transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Authorities are withholding the identity of the rider for the time being, pending notification of kin.

Meanwhile, further circumstances leading up to the crash remain unknown at this time. California Highway Patrol officers stated that it is uncertain at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. However, an active investigation is ongoing.
