Car Crash on Highway 99 Involving Big Rig, near Highway 166, Resulted in Major Injuries

KERN COUNTY, CA (November 2, 2022) – Late Friday morning, a car crash on Highway 99 left a man with serious injuries.

The collision happened around 11:43 a.m., north of Highway 166.

According to the police, a northbound Kia on Highway 99, going at a high rate of speed, crashed into the back of a big rig.

Responding medical personnel airlifted the Kia driver to Kern Medical after suffering for treatment of significant injuries.

Meanwhile, crews extricated the big rig driver from his vehicle. His condition is currently unknown.

At this time, the identities of those involved in the crash have not been made public.

No further details regarding the Highway 99 car crash have been released to the public at this time. Kern County Officials will provide more information once available.
